NewsInterstate Centre Business and Industrial Park Phase I -
Orafol Merger – The German based Orafol and the USA based Oracal have merged their operations at the Black Creek Interstate Centre Industrial Park and are now going by the name of Oracal. Construction of the beautiful manufacturing plant of approximately 225,000 square feet on Lot 6 at the Park has been completed and operations have begun. Oracal is investing $42 million into this facility and already looking to expand as a result of the merger. The manufacturing facility currently employs approximately 85 personnel and expects to hire more in the future. Their website is http://www.Oracal.com .
Oneida Ltd - A second tenant, Oneida, one of the world’s leading marketers of stainless steel flatware, is moving its East Coast distribution center from New York to the Interstate Centre Park. A 500,000 SF facility has been constructed on Lot 5A in the park and opened in the spring of 2007. The $11-million distribution center currently employs 108 and is expected to employ nearly 150 employees. Their New York website is http://www.oneida.com
Kawasaki Distribution Center - On Lot 9B at the Park, T & R Holdings, LLC recently constructed a 80,000 square foot distribution center which has been leased to DKW Logistics, LLC. The facility will be the distribution center in the southeastern United States for Kawasaki plus other brands of cycles and equipment. Construction has been completed and the facility opened in early 2007. The center will employ 10 people at the beginning with the goal of as many as 20.
Interstate Centre - Phase II
The Development Authority has recently entered into a partnership with Technology Park/Atlanta (TPA) to develop 505 acres across US Highway 280 from Phase I of the Interstate Centre Park. This property will offer large tracts available to users looking for heavy trailer storage, deep truck court, and easy access to the Interstate system and shipping lanes. The roadway and water/sewer infrastructure is presently being installed.
